Interior Minister and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi commemorated Pakistan Day by paying homage to the founding fathers and urging citizens to uphold the spirit of independence and called for a wide-ranging plan for the development of the sport.

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his sentiments, reflecting on the significance of the day in the country's history. He paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League workers who laid the groundwork for Pakistan's creation with the resolution passed in 1940.

Naqvi also called for a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. During an important meeting with Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and directors of the PCB, he emphasized the need to enhance resources and facilities at the National Cricket Academy and to develop a revenue generation plan for the PCB. Additionally, he discussed initiatives to make the Pakistan Super League (PSL) more engaging and to introduce a PSL for women cricketers.

In his message on March 23, Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of celebrating Pakistan Day with enthusiasm and fervor, while also remembering the sacrifices and dedication of the nation's forefathers.

"Our independence is the result of glorious sacrifices and hard work, and the foundation of it was laid on this day in 1940," stated Minister Naqvi. He urged the people of Pakistan to revive the spirit of March 23, 1940, and continue working tirelessly for the progress and prosperity of the nation.

Minister Naqvi highlighted the significance of the resolution passed during the historic Minto Park meeting, which became the cornerstone for the establishment of Pakistan. He emphasized that March 23 is a day to ignite passions and realize dreams, acknowledging the challenges and struggles faced on the journey to freedom.

Reflecting on the successful struggle for a separate homeland under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Minister Naqvi underscored the unity and determination of the diverse communities in the subcontinent.

Meanwhile, during a significant meeting with Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and the directors of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Naqvi underscored the importance of devising a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. Emphasizing the need for strategic planning, Naqvi highlighted key areas of focus to enhance the growth and development of cricket across the country.

One of the primary objectives outlined by Minister Naqvi was the enhancement of resources and facilities at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Recognizing the pivotal role of the NCA in nurturing and grooming cricketing talent, Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of providing state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure to aspiring cricketers. By investing in the NCA, Minister Naqvi aims to ensure that promising young players have access to top-notch training and coaching, thereby strengthening the talent pool for the national team.

Furthermore, Naqvi emphasized the need to develop a robust revenue generation plan for the PCB. Acknowledging the financial challenges faced by the cricket board, Minister Naqvi called for innovative strategies to maximize revenue streams and ensure the financial sustainability of the PCB. By introducing new features, enhancing the quality of broadcast coverage, and increasing fan engagement activities, Minister Naqvi aims to elevate the stature of the PSL as one of the premier T20 leagues in the world.

Moreover, Minister Naqvi expressed his commitment to promoting gender equality in cricket by advocating for the introduction of a PSL for women cricketers. Recognizing the immense talent and potential of female cricketers in Pakistan, Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of providing them with opportunities to showcase their skills on a grand stage.
