LRC's 28th winter meeting features two cup events

The Lahore Race Club is set to host its 28th day of winter
meeting for the 2023-24 season, featuring an array of thrilling races. The
upcoming event will showcase two cup events and four plate races on Sunday,
adding to the excitement of the racing enthusiasts.
As racing enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the 28th day of the
winter meeting, the Lahore Race Club promises a day filled with exhilarating
competition and fierce rivalries.
The day's schedule kicks off with the Mona Stud Plate of Class-VI
and Division-VI&VII, where 12 horses will vie for victory. Agha Prince is
the favorite, with Khizer Choice and Moon Light as strong contenders. The race
promises an intense competition among Puerto Rico, Vartika, Tango To Fire,
Pocket Power, Abdullah King, Makhrnoor, Olympians Beauty, Tatla Choice, and
Chhota Dawn.
The second race is another plate event, featuring eight Class-VII
and Division-VI&VII participants. Desert Parri leads the field as the
favorite, followed by Abdullah Champion and Mafnood JR. The race includes
Deputy, Imran Choice, Big O, Sultan Jahaniya, and Silent Melody.
The highlight of the day is the Jashn-e-Baharan Cup, a Class-VII
and Division-V&VI race with a lineup of nine competitors. Handsome takes
the lead as the favorite, with Luckvir and Tully Princess in contention. Other
participants include Niazi Princess, Dil Nasheen, Dur-e-Adan, Merchant of
Venus, Al Adba, and Absolutely Not.
The Mian Abdul Waheed Memorial Cup, a Class-VII and VI and
Division-I race, follows with Welcome Sardar as the favorite, Elektra for
place, and Bella Veste as a potential surprise. The race also features Murad,
Manat, and La Belle.
In the fifth race, a plate event of Class-VI and Division-II, Mera
Gondal leads a field of 15 participants. Big Dream and National Colour are
strong contenders, alongside other horses like Kuwait Edition, Princess
Rukhtas, Shareeka, Quality Street, Generosity, Lake City One, Wynx, Bella,
Hussan, Yesteryear, Flight Line, and Mark My Words.
The final race of the day is a Class-VII and Division-III&IV
competition with 13 participants. Lady Champion is the favorite, with Sehar for
place and Arrogate as a potential surprise. The race also includes Casper,
Shining Moon, Danzora, Samore City, Zaman Sahib, Magical City, Super Power,
Jalpana Prince, Bio Care, and Yes Commander.
