LRC to feature eight races today /16-03-2024

The Lahore Race Club is set to host an exciting
day of racing with the 29th Winter Meeting this Sunday. The event promises a
thrilling lineup featuring eight races, with three prestigious cup events and
five plate races.
The day kicks off with four Madhu Bala Plate races, each featuring
a field of Class-VII and Division-VII horses. While specific favorites haven't
been announced for these opening races, contenders include Lalay De Jan, Moon
Light, Mustang, Abdullah Champion, Chhota Dawn, Star Crown, Jalthal, Tatla
Choice, Amigo, Capital City, Vartika, Olympions Beauty, and Sultana.
The second race is of Class-VII and Division-VI. From
among a field of 13, the potential for win is carried by Dur-e-Adan and Sultan
Jahaniya for place while Merchant of Venus is on fluke. Others in the field
are, Abdullah Love, Annie Power, Al Adba, Flying Fire, Big, Tango To Fire,
Desert Parri, Puerto Rico, Deputy and Black Master.
The third race has nine Class-VII and Division-III&IV
lineup with Magical City favourite being. As Niazi Princess may take up the
place, a surprise is expected from Zaman Sahib. The field also includes Sehar,
Jalpana Prince, Timeline, Jalpna Fee, Yes Commander and Mumraiz Love.
Following the Madhu Bala Plates, the excitement
intensifies with three featured cup races:
Sheikh Sajjad Hassan Memorial Cup (Class VII &
Division-II): Acknowledge is expected to lead the pack, with Money Heist and
Enchanting One as potential challengers. Other contenders include Dubai Angel,
Love Love, Quality Street, Tatla Rule, and Yesteryear.
Desert Prince Cup (Class VII & Division-I): Sarpanch
appears to be the crowd's favorite, but Shaman and Vesta could pose a threat.
Royal Nawab, Welcome Sardar, Bella, and Varde One are also horses to watch.
Mir Ikram Mehmood Memorial Cup (Class VI): Dila Awaiz is
tipped to win, with Leisure Trip and Last Emperor as potential spoilers. Notorious
One, Samson, Manat, J-K, Galactica, Sundari, and Wattoo Choice round out the
contenders.
The day concludes with another Madhu Bala Plate race
featuring Class-VII and Division-II horses. Western Lady is expected to take
center stage, followed by Prodigal Rain. Mara Gondal, Elektra, Big Dream, Song
Bird, Shakira, and Samore Coy could provide some surprises.
The 29th Winter Meeting promises a thrilling day of
competition for horse racing enthusiasts. With a diverse range of horses and
talented jockeys participating, the event is sure to be filled with excitement
and close finishes.
