In a riveting display of skill and competition, the 3rd Ghazala Ansari Julke Challenge Cup at Lahore Gymkhana Golf Course witnessed a captivating duel between Bushra Fatima and Parkha Ijaz, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats after an electrifying second day.


Performance Overview:

Bushra Fatima, who commenced the day with a promising birdie, showcased a strong front nine, finishing just one over par. However, challenges on the back nine led to a seven-over score, culminating in a total gross score of 80. Parkha Ijaz faced an initial setback with a double bogey but staged a remarkable recovery on the back nine, finishing just one over par and matching Fatima's score of 80. Fatima's slender two-stroke lead promises an enthralling final round.


Category B and C Action:

The competition extended to categories B and C, catering to handicaps between 13 to 36. Junior girls from the Ace Junior Golf League, divided into age groups of 6 to 10 years and 10 to 14 years, added vibrancy to the event.


Junior Division Highlights:

In the 9-hole division, Maria Waqar secured the first gross with an impressive 51 strokes, followed by Hajra Muhammad Khan with 60 strokes for the second gross. Zaynab Akram claimed the third spot with 62 strokes. The junior division showcased budding talent, reflecting the legacy of Ghazala Ansari, a revered figure in the sport.


Prodigious Victory in 18-hole Category:

The 18-hole category witnessed a remarkable victory by 7-year-old golf prodigy Ayra Ather Yaseen of Ace Junior Golf League. Starting her golf journey at the age of 4, Ayra demonstrated skills well beyond her years, securing the first gross title of the GA Challenge Cup. Mahnoor Syed claimed the second gross with 106 strokes, signaling great potential for future success. Fariah Amin and Nabiha Nafees secured the third and fourth spots with 118 and 120 strokes, respectively.
