Naqvi plans upgradation of cricket stadiums across the country
By our correspondent
Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin
Naqvi, has announced a significant decision regarding the upgradation of
cricket stadiums across the country.
As reported last month, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National
Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium are all set to undergo
extensive renovations to enhance the overall cricketing experience for fans.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has called for a comprehensive plan
outlining the upgradation process for Gaddafi Stadium within the next three
days. The goal is to ensure that all three stadiums are upgraded and ready
before the upcoming Champions Trophy.
The plan will be initiated in two phases, starting with Gaddafi
Stadium, followed by National Cricket Stadium in Karachi and Rawalpindi Cricket
Stadium. The focus is not only on improving the playing conditions but also
enhancing facilities for cricket enthusiasts in the stands.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need to address the requirements of
the stadiums, including the addition of more seating areas. Special attention
will be given to upgrading facilities in the corporate boxes at Gaddafi
Stadium.
During the meeting chaired by Chairman PCB, Nespak officials
provided a detailed briefing on the proposed upgradation plans for the
stadiums. The Director of Infrastructure at PCB was also present at the
meeting, underscoring the commitment to completing the upgradation work with
both speed and quality.
This ambitious initiative is geared towards creating world-class
cricketing facilities, providing fans with a more enjoyable and comfortable
experience, and ensuring that Pakistan continues to host top-tier cricket
events.
