PCB set to reveal senior team management for upcoming tours

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is on the verge of announcing the senior team management for the Pakistan men's cricket team. According to reliable sources, former spinner Saeed Ajmal is expected to take on the role of spin bowling coach, while Umar Gul will assume the position of fast bowling coach.


Additionally, Shahid Aslam is set to make a return as the assistant coach, and Abdul Majeed is anticipated to become the fielding coach once again. The official announcements regarding these appointments are expected to be made shortly by the PCB.


Recently, Mohammad Hafeez was announced as the Team Director, and he will also serve in the dual capacity of head coach and batting coach. Naveed Akram Cheema is designated to manage the Pakistan team during the upcoming Test tour of Australia.


The formal confirmation of the squad and coaching staff is contingent upon the approval of Zaka Ashraf, the head of the PCB management committee, who is currently in India. The squad for the Australia tour is expected to include seventeen to eighteen players.


The training camp for the Pakistan team is scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi from November 22 to 29, with the team set to depart from Islamabad for Australia on November 30. Newly-appointed Test captain Shan Masood, along with Team Director Mohammad Hafeez and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, has identified potential players for the training camp. Notable performers from the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, including Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and leading wicket-taker Khurram Shehzad, are among those selected for the camp.

Four-day match: PM’s XI vs Pakistan – December 6-9: Manuka Oval, Canberra


1st Test – Australia vs Pakistan – December 14-18: Perth Stadium


2nd Test – Australia vs Pakistan – December 26-30: Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)


3rd Test – Australia vs Pakistan – January 3-7: Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)
