LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket
captain Babar Azam has expressed his solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Babar shared a picture on X (formerly known as Twitter) showing a girl holding
the Palestinian flag with a doll on her lap. In the caption, he included a
piece of poetry.
Babar Azam stepped down as the
captain of the Pakistan national team in all formats after the World Cup, as he
vividly remembered the moment when he received the call from the Pakistan
Cricket Board (PCB) to lead Pakistan in 2019. Despite the highs and lows on and
off the field over the past four years, he aimed to maintain Pakistan's pride
and respect in the cricket world. Babar expressed gratitude to the passionate
Pakistan cricket fans for their unwavering support and announced his decision
to step down as captain in all formats, considering it the right time for the
call.
