Pakistan's tour to the Netherlands postponed
By our correspondent
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Pakistan's
tour to the Netherlands for a three-match T20I series has been postponed due to
scheduling conflicts.
The
series was originally scheduled for May 2024, but the PCB has requested the
Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) to reschedule the matches. This decision
is aimed at easing the burden on a packed cricket calendar.
The
PCB and KNCB are currently exploring alternative options to reschedule the T20I
series at a more convenient time.
Roland
Lefebvre, High-Performance Manager at KNCB, expressed his disappointment over
the postponement of the series but remained optimistic about finding a suitable
window to play the matches.
"We're
obviously disappointed, but of course, we understand the situation,"
Lefebvre said. "We remain optimistic that a new window will be found to
play the series either at home or away."
Pakistan's
three-match series against the Netherlands was initially scheduled for early
May 2024, prior to Pakistan's tours of Ireland and England. However, Pakistan
is also set to play a five-match T20I series against New Zealand in April,
making the schedule even tighter and leaving little room for the Netherlands
tour.
The
PCB and KNCB will continue to work together to find a mutually agreeable date
for the series.
