Pakistan’s celebrated tennis star Talha Waheed has officially joined the ranks
of Guinness World Record holders, adding another proud moment to the nation’s
sports history.
Representing
Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. (GO Petroleum) as a brand ambassador, Talha has
been formally recognised by Guinness World Records for completing the most
successful tennis serves in one minute—an incredible 59 accurate serves
achieved on November 8, 2024, at a tennis facility in Lahore. The previous
record of 42 serves, which had stood firm since 2019, now belongs to the
history books.
The
world record certification was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records
on March 10, 2025, making Talha Waheed’s achievement a landmark moment not just
for him, but for Pakistan’s entire sports community.
A
new benchmark for Pakistani tennis
Talha
Waheed’s record is more than just a personal milestone—it’s a shining example
of how senior athletes continue to defy expectations and push the limits of
their sport. Known as a consistent performer both nationally and
internationally, Talha has made a name for himself on the ITF Senior Tour, with
multiple titles in the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles categories.
Gratitude
to the support team
In
his heartfelt acceptance message, Talha credited GO Petroleum for its
unwavering support throughout his journey. He extended special thanks to Zaheer
Baig, Saima Akbar Khattak, and Khalid Riaz, CEO of GO Petroleum, for their
invaluable encouragement.
Talha
also acknowledged the critical role his personal team played in his success. “I
owe this record to my coach Mehboob Jan, my sports physician Dr. Ammad, and my
medical consultant Dr. Nasir Rana. Their guidance and commitment have been
instrumental,” he said.
He
further expressed his gratitude to his club DeSOM and to Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi,
President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, for their constant support.
More
records to chase
Far
from slowing down, Talha Waheed is already setting his sights on future world
records. He has vowed to keep pushing the envelope, aiming to not only raise
the bar for himself but also to inspire young athletes across Pakistan to dream
bigger and train harder.
With
this Guinness World Record now officially his, Talha Waheed has firmly cemented
his place as one of Pakistan’s most inspiring sports figures.
