The opening day of the Lahore Race Club’s Summer Meeting
2025 was nothing short of exhilarating, packed with breathtaking finishes,
surprise contenders, and crowd-favourite victories that kept racegoers on the
edge of their seats.
The day kicked off in dramatic fashion with the first race,
where Mafnood JR, the favourite, narrowly edged out Jhalthal in a tight sprint
to the finish. The biggest surprise came when Abdullah Love, an outsider,
stormed into third place, stunning the punters.
The second race proved to be a shake-up as Chika Rika, a
virtually unknown competitor, claimed an impressive victory. In another twist,
Lucky Macs secured second place, leaving the much-anticipated favourite Pocket
Power to settle for third in a surprising outcome.
The day’s main attraction, the Summer Cup, delivered as
expected. The star of the show, Little Master, lived up to all the pre-race
hype, comfortably dominating the field and securing a convincing win. Adding
unexpected flavour to the race, Apple Of My Eye crossed the line in second
place, while Absolutely Not delivered a shock by finishing third.
The Eid Cup brought its own drama. Wynx, initially seen as a
place contender, dazzled the crowd by grabbing the title. KitKat, labelled as a
potential fluke, stunned everyone by finishing second, and Golden Heart popped
up as a surprise third-place finisher.
In the fifth race, Samore City proved its class, racing
strongly to meet expectations and taking the win. Sardar Bey caused a stir by
finishing second, while Son Of Sultan, widely viewed as a fluke entry, made a
surprising leap to third.
The day wrapped up with a thrilling sixth race, where Desert
Parri, originally expected to finish second, outperformed the field to claim
first place. The favourite Luckvir settled for second, and Paddington delivered
another surprise by securing third.
From favourites holding their ground to underdogs stealing
the spotlight, the Lahore Race Club’s Summer Meeting Day 1 had it all. With
such an exciting start, the rest of the summer racing calendar promises even
more action and surprises for racing enthusiasts.
