Summer Meeting: Six sprint races promise high drama

Racing fans
are in for an exciting Sunday evening as the Lahore Race Club stages its 13th
Summer Meeting 2025, featuring six back-to-back sprint races, each set over a
sharp 900 metres. With a perfect mix of maiden runners, favourites, and dark
horses, the card promises plenty of speed, surprises, and thrilling finishes.
The
maiden challenge
The
curtain-raiser is a maiden contest where 10 newcomers will be out to prove
themselves. Expect fireworks from Tiger of Sultan, Khan Sahib, Miyo Mela, Red
Hot, Bajwa Queen, Mehsi Babu, Gallop In Glory, Barrister, King Asia, and Good
Boy. With no clear standout, this one looks wide open.
Al
Mabrook leads the pack
The second
race has eight hopefuls. Al Mabrook carries the favourite tag, while Haseeb
Thrill looks strong for a place. But keep an eye on Thunder Prince (Krc),
entered as a fluke runner who could upset the order. The rest of the field
includes Annie Power, I Shall Lead, Maze, and Gifts of Gold.
War
Command eyes glory
Seven
runners are lined up for the third sprint. War Command is being tipped as the
one to beat, with Awais Prince a good chance for the runner-up slot. Multani
Babu could be the surprise package. Others in action are Pocket Power, Mac, Yes
Commander, and Raftar.
Nawab Prince the favourite
In the
fourth event, a six-horse battle, Nawab Prince is the popular choice to take
top honours. Rashid Prince seems best placed for second, though Zaman Sahib
could spoil the party with a surprise run. The race also features Haseeb
Thunder, Sky Warrior, and Mr. Asia.
Taj
Mahal vs. the field
The fifth
race, with eight entries, promises a hot contest. Taj Mahal is attracting most
of the attention, while Golden Heart looks good for a place. New York City,
however, may spring a surprise. Challengers include Sehar, Gabriella, Rayaan
Prince, Kuwait Edition, and Trixie.
Thunder Boy the star attraction
The
evening’s finale brings together just five horses, but it could be the most
gripping of all. Thunder Boy (Krc) is the firm favourite, with Yesteryear
expected to follow. Yet Mera Gondal may provide the upset factor. Completing
the lineup are Al Shouq and Cinderella’s Dream, both capable of strong
performances.
With
favourites under pressure and dark horses lurking, the 13th Day Summer Meeting
has all the ingredients of a racing thriller. Fans can expect an evening full
of drama, photo finishes, and plenty of surprises at the Lahore Race Club.
