The 10th Day Summer Meeting – 2025 at the Lahore Race Club turned into a rollercoaster for racegoers on Sunday evening. Five of the seven races ended in upsets, leaving punters stunned, while only two favourites — Caesar and Zindagi — delivered on their pre-race promise.

The headline-grabber of the day was the Jashn-e-Azadi Cup, where outsider Flash charged past the favourites to take the title in dramatic fashion. It was a run that few saw coming, and it left even the most seasoned race-watchers in awe. Earlier, Victory Bul Bul clinched the Kashmir Cup, while Caesar claimed the Independence Day Cup in style.

The day kicked off with a shocker when fluke pick Rashid Prince galloped to victory in the opening race, followed by surprise finishers Raftar in second and Amigo in third.

In the Kashmir Cup, fluke challenger Victory Bul Bul outpaced hot favourite Awais Prince, who had to settle for second, while unheralded Dubai Love claimed third.

The surprises kept coming in the third race as fluke runner Generosity stole the win, with Nawab Prince taking a surprise second and place-fancied Taj Mahal finishing third.

The fourth race was another upset special, with National Colour — barely on the radar — sprinting home first. Absolutely Not surprised in second, while place hopeful Desert Parri came third.

Then came the Jashn-e-Azadi Cup, the day’s crown jewel, and what a spectacle it was. Flash blazed past the competition, Son Of Sultan impressed with a runner-up finish, and fluke hope Brigadier took third.

In the Independence Day Cup, Caesar lived up to his billing with a commanding win. Redrock stunned many with second place, and fluke pick Wynx grabbed third.

The finale was a treat for favourite backers as Zindagi powered home first, with Multani Babu in second and surprise package Mr Asia in third.

With so many twists, this race day will be remembered as a true test of instincts — and a reminder that at the Lahore Race Club, anything can happen once the gates fly open.
