Punjab Cup highlight of LRC's 34th winter meeting on Sunday

LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club is all set to host its 34th day
of the winter meeting for the year 2023-2024 on Sunday, featuring a thrilling
lineup of one cup event and six plate races. Among the main races of the day is
the Punjab Cup, accompanied by five Chan plates and a Turbat plate, promising
an action-packed day for enthusiasts of the sport.
The day's proceedings kick off with the opening Chan plate,
a Class VII and Division VII race, featuring a competitive field of 12
participants. Sky Warrior emerges as the favorite for victory, with Tatla
Choice expected to secure a place, while Alyan One remains a wildcard entry.
Other contenders in the race include Vitoria, Sultana, Apache, Flash Fire,
Serial Killer, Shah Prince, Chhota Don, Olympians Beauty, and Moon Light.
In the subsequent race, a Class VII and Division VI&VII
affair, Desert Parri is touted as the favorite among 11 participants. Macs is
anticipated to secure a place, with Roshnee considered as a surprise element in
the race. The field also includes Naveed-e-Sehar, Moni Prince, Absolutely Not,
Abdullah Champion, Amazing Star, Fee Cracker, Flokey, and Ubbi.
Moving on to the third race, a Class VII and Division
IV&V contest, Black Master is expected to clinch victory from a field of
eight participants. Super Power is predicted to secure a place, while Kuwait
Edition could spring a surprise. The lineup also comprises Mumraiz Prince,
Niazi Princess, Malik Badshah, Sultan Jahaniya, and Fame Again.
The fourth race, featuring a Class VII and Division III
setup, sees Mufasa as the center of attention among seven participants. Casper
is tipped to secure a place, while Elizabeth is expected to provide an
unexpected performance. The field also includes Quality Street, Treasure Trip,
Blazing Fee, and Shining Moon.
The Turbat plate, a Class VI and Division II, III&IV
race, unfolds with Spartacus as the favorite for victory. Leisure Trip is
anticipated to secure a place, while J-K could potentially surprise the field.
The lineup also includes Samson, Manat, and Bella Veste.
The highly anticipated Punjab Cup, a Class VII and Division
I contest, features a field of six contenders. National Colour, Big Dream, and
Naymar are hyped as the top three performers, with Sehar, Desert Crown, and
Hizar also vying for top honors.
In the final race of the day, featuring nine participants in
a Class VII and Division II setup, Shakira emerges as the favorite, closely
followed by Deedavar, while Samore City remains a wildcard entry. Farhan
Prince, Arcadian, Tatla Rule, Tahira, Lake City One, and Emerging Star complete
the competitive field.
With such an exciting lineup of races, the Lahore Race Club
promises an exhilarating day of horse racing action for fans and enthusiasts
alike.
