PCB
broadens scope for coaching staff selection
By our correspondent
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expanded its search for coaching staff for
the national team, with a focus on including local coaches alongside foreign
experts.
According
to sources within the PCB, names like Shahid Aslam, Umar Rashid, Mansoor Amjad,
and Abdul Majeed are under consideration for roles within the coaching staff.
Additionally, foreign coaches will soon be integrated into the support staff
following the appointment of foreign head coaches.
The
PCB has initiated a formal advertisement process for the selection of coaches,
marking the first time the board has solicited applications for both Red and
White Ball cricket separately.
Applicants
interested in coaching the Pakistani team must possess a minimum of five years
of experience working with international, domestic, and franchise cricket
teams. Additionally, candidates must have completed Level Two coaching courses,
with preference given to those who have attained Level Three or higher. Proficiency
in teaching, speaking, and writing English is also a requirement for
applicants.
The
deadline for submitting applications is April 15, with both Pakistani and
foreign coaches eligible to apply. This departure from past practices indicates
the PCB's commitment to a transparent and inclusive selection process for
coaching staff, ensuring that the chosen individuals possess the necessary
skills and qualifications to guide the national team to success.
