PCB chairman calls for grassroots cricket development plan

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, in a bid to enhance
cricketing talent at the grassroots level, has directed the implementation of a
comprehensive strategy to promote cricket across schools, colleges, and
universities nationwide.
Mohsin
Naqvi has tasked the Director of Domestic Cricket with formulating a workable
plan aimed at identifying and nurturing talent at the school, college, and
university levels. Emphasizing the importance of grassroots tournaments, Naqvi
highlighted the need to organize competitive events between educational
institutions to unearth promising young cricketers.
Furthermore,
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi underscored the significance of profiling emerging
players, stressing the need for equal opportunities for women in cricket. He
emphasized that women's tournaments should be conducted at the college and
university level to encourage female participation in the sport.
Expressing
confidence in the abundance of cricketing talent in Pakistan, Naqvi reiterated
the commitment to nurturing and developing this talent pool. He emphasized that
tapping into grassroots cricket is essential for the sustainable growth and
success of cricket in the country.
