PCB to have zero tolerance policy on national interest

The Pakistan Cricket Board will be taking every possible
step for the players uplift and the development of the game alike while there
will be zero tolerance policy on national interest.
Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB),
has addressed various important matters concerning the cricketing landscape of
Pakistan during a media interaction on Sunday here.
Regarding the treatment of fast bowler Ehsanullah, who is
currently in England for medical care, Naqvi assured that the PCB is covering
all expenses. He mentioned the possibility of sending Ehsanullah to America for
further treatment if necessary. Naqvi emphasized the importance of ensuring
proper medical attention for all players and mentioned the formation of an
independent panel to review the medical treatment provided to Ehsanullah.
Naqvi also provided updates on injured player Azam Khan,
stating that the selection committee has included a substitute player in his
place. He expressed his personal interest in Khan's recovery and highlighted
the PCB's commitment to supporting players' fitness.
Regarding stadium upgrades, Naqvi mentioned ongoing
discussions with foreign companies for the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium and
the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. He acknowledged delays in the process but
assured that efforts are being made to complete the projects before the
Champions Trophy.
Addressing the topic of India-Pakistan cricket matches,
Naqvi stated that discussions will take place once the Indian team visits
Pakistan. He assured that the PCB will consider all proposals regarding venue
and scheduling.
Naqvi also provided updates on the Pakistan Super League
(PSL), stating that talks with franchise owners are underway, and the schedule
will be announced soon.
In response to a query about security concerns, Naqvi
assured that incidents like the one on May 9 will not be tolerated, and
appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety of players and
spectators.
During the event, Naqvi inaugurated the Inter Club Cricket
Championship across Pakistan, emphasizing its significance in providing
opportunities for young players to showcase their talent. The tournament will
see participation from around 3300 clubs across 101 districts, with
approximately 65,000 young players getting a chance to play in over 7200
matches. Naqvi highlighted the PCB's commitment to nurturing young talent and
providing them with opportunities to excel in cricket.
The event was attended by Lahore Regional Cricket
Association President Khawaja Nadeem, Director Domestic Cricket PCB Abdullah
Khurram Niazi, Senior General Manager Domestic Cricket Juniad Zia, and other
officials.
