War Command shines on a day full of upsets at LRC

The racing fans at the Lahore Race Club were treated to an afternoon full of drama, as favourites crumbled and outsiders stole the show. Amid all the surprising results, only War Command lived up to expectations by securing a commanding victory in the third race.

The day opened with King Asia proving too strong for the rest, stamping authority in the first race. Good Boy showed consistency to take second spot, while Bajwa Queen settled for third place.

In the second race, it was Thunderman who shocked the field with a fluke victory. I Shall Lead surprised many by clinching the runner-up slot, whereas Haseeb Thrill, who carried hopes for a place finish, had to be content with third.

The much-anticipated third race brought relief to favourite backers as War Command justified his billing and dominated the field. Multani Babu, despite being considered a long shot, finished strongly in second, while Raftar added another twist by snatching third place.

The fourth race saw another major upset when Lucky Macs stormed home as the winner. Sky Warrior earned second position, and place-favourite Rashid Prince slipped to third. Observers noted Mr. Asia’s performance, hinting at potential for future runs.

Momentum for surprises carried into the fifth race as Golden Heart, backed mainly for place, produced a decisive performance to win outright. New York City, regarded as a fluke, grabbed second, while Sehar emerged as the unexpected third.

The concluding contest wrapped up the unpredictable day in style. Al Shouq outpaced Thunder Boy in an upset finish, while Cinderella’s Dream charmed spectators by sneaking into third.

From start to finish, the race card was dominated by underdogs and long shots. For many, it was a testing day at the betting ring, but War Command’s victory stood as the lone assurance for punters who placed faith in favourites.
