Cricket fever was at its peak in Sialkot and Jhelum, where thousands of boys and girls gathered with nothing but passion in their hearts and dreams in their eyes. The Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP) cricket trials, organized by Lahore Qalandars, turned the towns into hubs of excitement, proving once again why Punjab is the heartbeat of Pakistan’s cricketing culture.

For many of the young hopefuls, this was their very first chance to step onto a professional platform. The energy was electric, the competition fierce, but above all, the determination was unshakable. Backed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and PMYP, the initiative is carving out a structured pathway for cricketers from every corner of the country.

The Jhelum trials carried added significance, as Federal Minister Bilal Kiyani not only attended but personally hosted the event. Also gracing the occasion was US ChargĂ© d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker, whose presence gave the trials an international spotlight and encouraged youngsters to believe their talent has global relevance.

Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana praised the overwhelming turnout: “The passion and energy we witnessed in Sialkot and Jhelum were beyond expectations. This platform is proof that dreams can come true if talent is given the right opportunity.”

Players themselves described the trials as “a dream come true.” For them, this wasn’t just about cricket—it was about hope, discipline, and belief that they, too, could wear the green jersey one day.

As the PMYP trials move across Punjab, the story is only getting bigger. Jhelum and Sialkot have shown that the spirit of cricket is alive and thriving, and the next chapter of Pakistan’s cricketing future may very well be written by one of these determined youngsters.
