Excitement builds
for 8th day summer meeting at LRC
Five Quetta
Plates set to entertain on Sunday evening

The Lahore
Race Club is all set for an action-packed Sunday as the 8th Day of the Summer
Meeting 2025 gallops into the spotlight. This weekend’s card features five
thrilling Quetta Plate races, promising speed, stamina, and surprises.
All five
races fall under Class VII, but are split into different divisions. The first
four are quickfire 1000-metre sprints, while the final race stretches out to a
slightly longer 1100 metres, testing the endurance of both horse and jockey.
Race 1:
Quetta Plate (Class VII – Div VI & VII)
The opener
has a solid line-up of 11 runners. All eyes will be on Thunder Cloud (KRC), the
hot favourite. I Shall Lead could sneak into the places, while Shahan Shah may
just surprise us as a fluke. Also in the mix are Drago, Smart Fighter, Raftar,
Good Boy, Thunder Prince, Thunder Lady, Dubai Love, and Gifts of Gold.
Race 2:
Quetta Plate (Class VII – Div V & VI)
This
seven-horse field sees Daddy Cool leading the betting charts as the favourite.
Thunder Man (KRC) looks like a strong place bet, while Zaman Sahib could be the
wildcard. Others to watch include Latin Storm, Rashid Prince, Malik Choice, and
Leo Star.
Race 3:
Quetta Plate (Class VII – Div IV)
The third
race might belong to Absolutely Not, the standout favourite in this seven-horse
showdown. Generosity seems well-placed to challenge, and Gabriela could deliver
an upset. Rounding out the field are Taj Mahal, Yes Commander, Gondal One, and
Macs.
Race 4:
Quetta Plate (Class VII – Div III)
A compact
but competitive bunch of six will line up here. Little Master is the one to
beat, but keep an eye on Luckvir for a strong place finish. Dubawi’s Angel
might turn some heads too. Also running: New York City, Haseeb Thunder, and
Black Fire.
Race 5:
Quetta Plate (Class VII – Div I & II)
The final
race of the day will be the longest and possibly the most unpredictable.
Brigadier looks solid as the favourite, with Samore City fancied for the place.
Elizabeth, meanwhile, could spring a fluke win. Other runners include Son of
Sultan, Mera Gondal, and Desert Parri.
With a mix
of favourites, place hopefuls, and dark horses across all five races, the 8th
Day Summer Meeting has all the makings of a fantastic race evening. Whether
you're at the track or following from afar, Sunday promises pace, power, and
plenty of thrilling finishes.
