The Lahore Race Club witnessed a day of surprises and expected victories on Sunday, with Phantom delivering the day's biggest upset by winning the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Cup, while favorite Winx secured a convincing victory in the Sher Garh Cup.
The day began with favorite Rayaan Prince asserting
dominance in the opening Sohna Plate race, followed by unexpected podium
finishes from Abdullah Champ and Serenity in second and third positions
respectively.
The second race saw Twinkle living up to expectations
with a victory, while Rutba secured second place as predicted. Mumraiz Love
surprised spectators with a third-place finish.
In the day's most stunning result, Phantom dominated the
prestigious Faiz Ahmed Faiz Cup, leading from start to finish. Haider Prince
claimed an unexpected second place, with Al Ravi completing the surprise podium
lineup.
The Sher Garh Cup provided more predictable results as
favorite Winx crossed the finish line in first place. However, Sultan Prince
and Sardar Bey delivered unexpected performances to secure second and third
positions respectively.
In the fifth race, Shareeka, initially predicted for a
second-place finish, surpassed expectations to claim victory. Challa Queen and
Zaid Prince rounded out the top three with surprising performances.
The day concluded with another upset as dark horse
Vitoria claimed an astonishing victory in the final race, followed by
unexpected podium finishes from Rock N Wild and Thunder Princess.
The race day, part of the Lahore Winter Meeting 2024-2025, featured six races across various divisions, covering distances ranging from 900 to 1200 meters.
