Minaa
Zainab of the Punjab Golf Association has, in a significant development for
Pakistan’s golfing community, successfully completed the International Golf
Referee Qualification.
The certification
process, which took place at the prestigious Royal Selangor Golf Club in
Malaysia, saw participants from various countries including Malaysia, China,
Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Pakistan.
Minaa Zainab, a
lady lawyer with a scholarly background and a fervent passion for golf
organization, has now acquired the necessary skills and standards to officiate
as a tournament referee at national golf championships. The qualification
process provided her and four male counterparts with a comprehensive
understanding of managing golf competitions.
The male members
who also qualified are Malik Kamran of the Pakistan Golf Federation, Col Tahir
Ayub and Maj Ismael Rao of the Rawalpindi Golf Club, and Omer Zia of Lahore
Gymkhana. It is noteworthy that Minaa Zainab was the only female participant
from Pakistan to achieve this success.
This
accomplishment not only highlights the growing inclusivity in sports management
but also sets a precedent for other aspiring female sports administrators in
Pakistan.
You have wrong information in your article. The first female to achieve this honour is Munazza Shaheen.
