My Fav: Dar Prince 5 | My Place: Hashim Prince 2 | My Fluke: Flokey

My reasoning: This is a maiden race and the weight structure speaks clearly. Dar Prince 5, Hashim Prince 2, and Mirza Prince 6 all share the outright top weight of 9-0 — three horses joint at the ceiling of an eleven-runner maiden. In maiden company, the handicapper's top weight allocation signals the horses with the most recognised potential. Among the three, Dar Prince 5 earns my favour as the primary pick. Hashim Prince 2, sharing 9-0, is the natural place selection. The book's choice of Flokey (7-8) as favourite is a bottom-weight maiden call that defies conventional weight logic — I move Flokey down to my fluke. Mumraiz The Great at 7-10 is a legitimate place contender in the book's view but the 14-pound gap from the top weights is simply too wide to justify favouritism.

Book Fav: Royal Stone | Book Place: Pride of Chandrai | Book Fluke: Dogar Choice

My Fav: Royal Stone | My Place: Pride of Chandrai | My Fluke: Dogar Choice

My reasoning: Full agreement with the book on all three selections here. Royal Stone (9-0) carries the outright top weight — 4 pounds clear of Roxy and 6 clear of Dogar Choice. In an eleven-horse Division VI & VII field over 900m, that authority at the top of the weights is decisive. Royal Stone is my favourite without reservation. Pride of Chandrai (8-2) is well placed as a place contender — sitting in the mid-weight band, recognised by the handicapper, and a credible frame finisher. Dogar Choice (8-6) has shown form across the meeting, carrying fluke status here — my fluke as well. The four-way cluster at 7-10 at the bottom of the field makes upsets possible but the weight logic firmly supports the top three selections.

Book Fav: Xena | Book Place: Sher Dil | Book Fluke: Lucky Macs

My Fav: Lucky Macs | My Place: Sher Dil | My Fluke: Xena

My reasoning: This is the most analytically interesting race of the card and I diverge sharply from the book. Lucky Macs and Sher Dil share the outright top weight of 9-0 — two pounds ahead of Self Belief and a full 4 pounds ahead of the book's favourite Xena (7-12). Lucky Macs has been consistent throughout this meeting and was my fluke pick on Day 3 Race 2 where it carried 8-12 — the handicapper has now elevated it to 9-0, a clear signal of confidence. My favourite is Lucky Macs. Sher Dil shares top weight and is my place. The book making Xena the favourite despite it carrying 7-12 — a full stone below the top weights — is a form-over-weight call. Xena did win Race 1 on Day 3 as an upset, which explains the book's confidence, but in a six-horse field with two horses sitting at 9-0, I move Xena down to my fluke.

Book Fav: Moni Ka Rehman | Book Place: Vartika | Book Fluke: Fatteh Prince

My Fav: Golden Choice | My Place: Moni Ka Rehman | My Fluke: Kalabi's Queen

My reasoning: The book and I diverge at the top. Golden Choice (9-0) carries the outright top weight — 2 pounds ahead of Kalabi's Queen and Moni Ka Rehman, and a full 13 pounds ahead of Zaman Sahib. That is commanding weight authority in a six-horse Division III & IV field. The book ignores Golden Choice entirely and makes Moni Ka Rehman (8-12) the favourite — notable given Moni Ki Chahat won Race 4 on Day 3, suggesting the book may be riding recent form sentiment around the Moni name. However, the weight logic puts Golden Choice firmly as my favourite. Moni Ka Rehman (8-12) drops to my place — recent divisional form supports a frame finish. Kalabi's Queen also at 8-12 ran a surprise third on Day 3 and is my fluke. Fatteh Prince at 8-2 is the book's fluke but concedes too much weight to the leaders.

Race 5 · 9:20 PM — Gujrat Cup Match Race — 1000m

Weight

1

Dawood Prince 2

8-7

2

Zohan The Thunder 3

7-7

My reasoning: A match race is pure head-to-head — no field dynamics, no weight cluster analysis, just two horses. Dawood Prince carries 8-7 against Zohan The Thunder's 7-7 — a full stone advantage at the top. Dawood Prince won Race 4 on the 40th day from top weight and has been a consistent performer in this division. The 14-pound weight concession is significant over 1000m. Dawood Prince is the selection. Zohan The Thunder is the underdog but if it has the pace to offset the weight gap, it can make this competitive.
