  LRC hosts a cup event with six plate races today

LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club is set to host its 14th-day winter meeting on Sunday, featuring a thrilling card of seven races, including one cup event and six plate races. The racing enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating a day filled with excitement and fierce competition at the Lahore racecourse.


The race card is meticulously designed, starting with three Tuman plates before the highlight of the day, the Malik Hamid Ali Noon Memorial Cup. Following this prestigious cup event, three more plate races will unfold, creating a dynamic and action-packed racing schedule.


As the LRC prepares for this thrilling event, racing enthusiasts and participants alike eagerly await the action-packed day, brimming with anticipation and excitement.


The first three races of the day cover a mile's run, with the cup event spanning 1200 meters, providing a challenging test for the 12 participating colts and fillies making their maiden run. The remaining three plate races will stretch for 1100 meters, ensuring a diverse and engaging racing experience.


In the opening Tuman plate, eight horses from Class-VII and Division-VII will make their maiden appearance. The favorites for victory include Tady Don, Malik Prince, Chhota Dawn, Minister, Fazeel Choice, Champion Prince, Moon Light, and Lady Constable. Racing enthusiasts are in for a treat as the competition heats up, promising surprises and thrilling moments.


The second race features a Class-VII and Division-VI&VII contest with 14 contenders. The field is wide open, with expectations riding high on Merchant of Venus, Galileo Lady (KRC), Macs, Mumraiz Love, Tango To Fire, Mister Macs, Pride of Chandrai, Kuwait Currency, Silent Melody, Sultan Jahaniya, Kara Macs, Gujjar Queen, Flying Fire, and Monsoon Mischief.


The third race, a Class-VII and Division-IV&V selection, offers another intriguing lineup of seven horses. With fierce competition expected, Sargent, Top Secret, Sam Love (RRC), Haseeb Queen, Salaar, Jalthal, and Gifts of Gold will vie for victory, promising an enthralling race for spectators.


The highlight of the day, the fourth race, is the highly anticipated Malik Hamid Ali Noon Memorial Cup. This term race for 2-year-old TBP&HB promises an exhilarating spectacle, with competitors like Bambino, Prodigal Rain, Elizabeth, Murad, Bio Care, Moni Princess, Public Star, Blazing Fire, Quality Street, Paddington, Dila Awaiz, and Speed of Fire competing for glory.


The racing excitement continues with the fifth and sixth races, featuring Class-VII and Division-I&II as well as Class-VII and Division-II fields, respectively. The day concludes with a final race of Class-VII and Division-III&IV, promising a spectacular finish to the winter meeting.
