Lt General (R) Syed Arif Hasan, the President of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), has tendered his resignation from the prestigious position after serving for 19 years. Citing health reasons, General Arif announced his decision through a letter to the POA Executive Committee, effective from January 1, 2024.
Longest-serving POA President:
General Arif Hasan had been at the helm of the Pakistan Olympic Association for an impressive 19 years. He was elected as the president on March 11, 2004, making him the second longest-serving president after Syed Wajid Ali's 26-year tenure.
