To commemorate the sacrifices made by the Pakistani army, the Lahore Race Club has dedicated six cup events to the shuhada (martyrs) during its 1st day winter meeting 2024-25. These prestigious cups are named after prominent military figures who lost their lives defending the nation.

The Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider Cups, spanning various class groups and divisions, will be held on Sunday. The cups are named after Kernel Sher Khan, Major Muhammad Akram, Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, Major Shabbir Sharif, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti, and Major Tufail Muhammad.

Except for race four, which is a 1200-meter race, all other events will be a mile long.

First race, Kernel Sher Khan Cup: (Class VII, Division VI&VII), Favorites: Gifts of Gold (win), Abdullah Love (place), Monsoon Mischief (surprise); Other contenders: Abdullah The Great, Galileo Lady, Awais Love, Flokey, Sikandar Sipphire, Star Crown, Noor Princess
