Digital voices of Pakistan’s horse racing passion

By Asher Butt

Pakistan’s horse racing community is finding a growing voice on digital platforms, where three dedicated racing enthusiasts, Muhammad Tahir, Ehtisham Murtaza and Khurram Shahzad, are working to bring the sport closer to its followers through regular coverage, information and interviews.

Using YouTube and TikTok as their principal platforms, the trio provides racing enthusiasts with updates and information while also conducting interviews with jockeys, trainers and horse owners. Their work gives followers an opportunity to hear directly from people associated with racing and remain connected with activities surrounding the sport.

At a time when digital media provides sporting communities with new ways of reaching audiences, their initiative is helping Pakistan horse racing maintain a presence beyond the racecourse. By sharing racing-related content through easily accessible social-media platforms, they are contributing to greater engagement between participants in the sport and its followers.

Their contribution goes beyond simply giving results and developments. Through interviews and racing coverage, Muhammad Tahir, Ehtisham Murtaza and Khurram Shahzad are also helping highlight the individuals whose work forms an important part of the racing community, from jockeys and trainers to owners.

Such independent efforts can play a valuable promotional role for a sport with a long-established following in Pakistan. Regular digital coverage gives existing enthusiasts more material to follow while also providing an avenue through which new audiences can discover horse racing and learn more about the people involved in it.

The work of the three racing enthusiasts demonstrates how committed individuals can use modern media platforms to support and promote a traditional sport. Through their continued coverage on YouTube and TikTok, they are helping strengthen the connection between Pakistan’s racing community and its followers while keeping interest in the sport alive.
